Performance: Vishwak Sen is the heart and soul of this film. His body language, way of dialogue delivery, action, dialogue dictations are highlighted. He is superb in the emotional sequence. There are two female leads in Falaknuma Das- Saloni Mishra and Harshita Gaur, and both the actresses deliver their best. Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam gives everyone a run for the money with his act. Prashanthi Charuolingah and Uttej have done a good job. Rest of the cast perform accordingly.
Technical: The story of Falaknuma Das is interesting. It has striking moments as the struggle for existence, the real emotions and the price tag on life. The editing is crisp and the edginess is brought out well without compromising on the realistic sensibility and great acting by all the actors. Vivek Sagar’s music deserves special mention. It drives the movie forward, setting up the mood but never sensationalising it, or taking over the narrative. It allows the audience to think for itself about the situation on screen. Cinematography is breathtaking. The production values are good.
Analysis: With its stimulating storytelling and cast, Falaknuma Das is an exciting watch. As a director, Vishwak Sen became successful to execute the movie in an engaging manner.
