Uddhav Thackeray takes charge as CM

Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray took oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister (CM) short while ago. The swearing in ceremony was held at Shivaji Park and was largely attended by Shiva Sena cadre and supporters. He is the 19th chief minister of Maharashtra and is the first ever person from Shiva Sena party to chair the CM post. He will take charge of his office today.

 Uddhav Thackeray was sworn-in as the chief minister on Thursday evening. Hours later, he presided over the first cabinet meeting. Soon after he was sworn-in as the CM of Maharashtra, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut took a jibe at former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis,whose second tenure lasted for three days, for being elected as leader of the opposition party in the state.  Uddhav Thackeray  is heading the government of a three-party alliance, 'Maha Vikas Aghadi', whose main constituents are the Sena, NCP and Congress.
