Legislative Council chairman MA Sharif has referred the controversial and crucial bills of CRDA and DIDR to the Select Committee. In a major setback to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy government, MA Shariff on Wednesday decided to refer the Bills on three capital cities and abolition of APCRDA to a select committee. Ministers Avanthi Srinivas, Kodali Nani have climbed up on the table before Council Chairman MA Sharif and strongly protested against his decision.
Telugu Desam Party had been blocking the tabling of a Bills in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council which intended to give shape to the state government's plan of having three capitals. His decision gave a big boost to the protesting Amaravati farmers who have been protesting for the last 36 days against the state government's decision to shift the administration and executive capital to Vizag.
