The four convicts of the Nirbhaya case were to be hanged on 22nd January but delayed due to the mercy petition by Mukesh. His petition has been rejected by the president of India and the new date to hang them is 1st February, 6 am. They were asked about their last wishes as the date of their hanging nears. The sources at Tihar jail said, all the four convicts have given no reply to questions about meeting their family for the last time or willing their property.
Sources say, the convicts - Mukesh Singh, Vinay Sharma, Akshay Singh and Pawan Gupta, were silent. This was seen to suggest that they remain hopeful of buying more time. The convicts have already been asked whether they wanted to bequeath their properties in someone's name but they have not replied to it. All the convicts have been eating less and are also tense.
