15 Karnataka assembly seats went to polls on 5th December in a crucial election for Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa. Fate of the newly formed BJP government that came to power after toppling JDS-Congress coalition government depends on the results of the Karnataka assembly by-election. Now according to the latest update, BJP has won majority of the seats in the Karnataka by-elections. These results will help BJP to retain the government as it needed six seats strength in assembly. BJP candidate Ramesh Jarkiholi wins from Gokak constituency and BJP candidate Arun Kumar wins from Ranebennur.
CM BS Yediyurappa said, "11 MLAs will get cabinet berth out of the 12 winning candidates. Ranebennur BJP candidate wasn't promised anything and I don't see any problem with all 11 becoming ministers. In the next 3-4 days I will visit Delhi and finalize everything." Narendra Modi said, “ The People have voted for stable and strong government.”
