The former Intelligence chief of Andhra Pradesh AB Venkateswara Rao on Thursday challenged his recent suspension in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). Rao was accused of disclosing intelligence protocols to an Israeli defence manufacturing firm. In his complaint to the CAT, AB Venkateswara Rao said that his suspension was politically motivated. Venkateswara Rao filed a petition in Central Administrative Tribunal and in his petition he mentioned that his suspension in not valid as per law. Healso claimed that ever since YSRCP came into power, the state government isn't paying him salary. Ex-AP Intelligence chief urged CAT to immediately release his salary.
Venkateswara Rao was considered close to Chandrababu Naidu and he was shunted out as the intelligence chief by Election Commission on the eve of the elections on a complaint by then opposition YSRCP. After being shunted out by the Election Commission, he was transferred but was not given any posting.
