Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was in Delhi for the promotional activities for her upcoming film Chhapaak, which is due to release on Friday. She arrived at Sabarmati T-Point in the university where a public meeting was being held. She is one who come out in the support of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students who were attacked by masked goons Sunday night inside their own campus. On Tuesday, Deepika visited JNU to show her support to the students and met JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh who was seriously injured during the attack.
During the media interaction, Deepika Padukone opened up about JNU attack and said, “It pains me a lot to see the use of violence on the students. I faced it during the release of Padmaavat.” Deepika Padukone’ presence on the university campus led to several trolls slamming her and calling it a promotional, PR stunt for her upcoming film Chhapaak.
